introduction

This is our forth open studios year at 22 duke St. This year we are showing new works produced since last summer by kati saqui, nigel rhodes and guest artist anata dhanu who Kati has been a creative mentor to since last October.

SEAS art group have began to explore creativity beyond the studio into gardens, the streets, the beach and shop windows. So look out for unusual sights between the open studio locations!

Nigel Rhodes: 'Works on paper 2011" these abstract graphic screen prints are his esoteric pursuits, seeking to encapsulate aspects of his inconsequential daily life, transformed into a 21st Century geometric‘supremative’ and urban aesthetic.

Kati Saqui: "Interior portraits" Through aspects of Conceptual, Romanticism and Abstract Expressionism, I explore the application of paint, textural grids and chairs to remind me of emotive characteristics of the self, to evoke what I prefer perfection to mean to me.

Anata Dhanu: ‘Gifts of the Ebb Tide” is a display of crude but graceful structures assembled from objects washed up by the tide at Kingsdown .
Evoking a sense of fragility and mystery , they illustrate the effects of Nature and Time on the natural and the manufactured .
